PGM Student Works as Golf Operations Intern

August 14, 2014

Cody Franke, the vice president of the Professional Golf Management Student Association, will be a junior in the upcoming 2014-15 acedemic year. This summer he is working as a Golf Operations Intern in Alpine, Wyoming.

His position requires carries the responsibility to cater to the members, allow them to move freely throughout the club, and assist them with any issue that may arise. His overall goals for this internship include learning how a facility of this size operates all of their amenities along with working on the skills that I have acquired from Ferris and previous internships.

Above all else, Franke is the most enjoying the surrounding area. He said, “The town has mountain ranges around it and just 30 minutes away is the Grand Teton National Forest. Some of the views from the area are incredible to see in person.”

Franke credits his internship success to  the core business classes that he has taken so far, such as Management 337, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, as well as, all of the Professional Golf Management classes taught by Aaron Waltz and Mark Wilson.
