College of Business Receives Award for 14 Years of DECA Commitment
April 11, 2016
Ferris State University and the College of Business have been selected by the Michigan Marketing Educators to receive the Award of Merit. Ferris was nominated by the advisors from Michigan Distributive Education Club of America’s (DECA) District II for support of the District Conference, which the College of Business has hosted for 14 consecutive years.
DECA, Michigan’s second largest high school student organization, is an association of marketing students pursuing careers in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. The Award of Merit is presented to individuals or organizations that have had a major impact in supporting marketing education.
District II Co-Chair Brenda Clark said, “Ferris is truly a model of what partnership should be–mutual respect, a willingness to help, a concern for our students, and a dedication to education and the improvement of our programs and our DECA Chapters.”
This prestigious award was presented for the first time in 15 years to Sharon George on behalf of the College of Business at Michigan DECA’s 70th Annual Career Development Conference at the Cobo Center in Detroit.
