Dr. Abusharkh is an Assistant professor of and the program coordinator for the digital media software engineering program at Ferris State University. Dr. Abusharkh received his PhD in 2016 from Western University, focusing on resource management in Next Generation Cloud computing technologies. He endeavors to combine the insights gained while working as software implementation consultant along with research modeling, optimization, and performance evaluation techniques to design solutions catering to real world challenges. This yielded successful results for projects covering machine learning prediction models, Cloud resource allocation, Cloud systems performance measurement, high availability, and energy efficiency supported by industrial partners like Samsung and Ericsson. He is a published author with various papers in focusing on cutting edge technology topics. His paper “Resource allocation in a network-based cloud computing environment: design challenges” has close to 200 citations to date.
Dr. Abusharkh serves as the Chair for IEEE West Michigan joint chapter for Computer, Robotics, and Automation.
