Ferris College of Business Students Visit Gordon Food Service’s Automated Distribution Center
March 22, 2019
College of Business students toured Gordon Food Service’s (GFS) six-story high, automated distribution center in Wyoming, Michigan on March 20, 2019.
GFS is “the largest family-operated broadline food distribution company in North America.” Over the course of the tour, students learned about employee safety, business continuity, automated processes, local food bank support, and more.
The students who attended were from Dr. David Brown’s Risk Management and Insurance and Small Business Management classes. Their visit was made possible by Tim McNally, GFS’s North American Insurance Placement and Compliance Manager, and Teresa, their tour leader.
The College of Business at Ferris State University provides career-oriented education, responding for over 100 years to the changing needs of the business world. The curriculum prepares graduates to deal with real issues as members and leaders of tomorrow’s workforce.
