Jake Pintal (Graphic Design ‘16: speaking with a professional during his senior portfolio review in Spring 2016.
Graphic Design alumnus Jake Pintal (‘16) was recently featured on Ferris State Video’s “Bulldog for Life,” where he spoke about how attending Ferris impacted his life post-graduation.
Today, less than two years after graduating, Pintal is an Art Director at IN Marketing in Chicago, Illinois. He began as a Junior Art Director shortly after graduation and was promoted 5 months later.
“Everybody that I’ve talked to that came out of Ferris has been able to immediately adapt into the workforce,” said Pintal. “They didn’t feel like they were lost when they got out of school. They felt like they knew where they were going and they knew what they could do with the degrees that they got.”
While at Ferris, Pintal was involved in the Student Alumni Gold Club organization. Additionally, he made the College of Business Dean’s List multiple times. He earned a Bronze Addy at the 2017 West Michigan American Advertising Federation Award show for his design work on the StepUpFerris 2016 campaign.

Ferris’s Graphic Design program is one of the only design programs in the nation to be situated in the College of Business; its graduates continually have high placement rates. Students of the program are taught to think not only creatively but also critically; they have reasoning behind their designs and solve problems. The graduates are prepared, and professional; to learn more about the Graphic Design program at Ferris State visit their website.
