Tennis Management Alum Honored as Professional of the Year

Dan Beedle, a 2012 graduate of the Professional Tennis Management (PTM) program, has wasted no time in earning recognition within the tennis industry. Beedle was recently honored as the 2013 United States Tennis Association (USTA)/Louisiana Tennis Professional of the Year, as well as the 2013 USTA Southern Tennis Professional of the Year.

Beedle currently serves as Head Professional at the Querbes Tennis Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he maintains a busy schedule. Since graduating from Ferris, Beedle has maintained his commitment to education by attending numerous events throughout the year including a 10 & under workshop, the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Southern Convention, Cardio Tennis and TRX Cardio Tennis workshops to become a licensed provider, and the USPTA World Conference in Orlando, Florida.Beedle works with USTA League teams and junior tennis teams, coaches USTA ranked juniors, and served as the tournament director for multiple events. His schedule has him on-court teaching 35 to 40 hours a week and serving as the primary stringer for the tennis center.

Beedle volunteered over 50 hours to work with at-risk youth, spending two hours a week helping children learn tennis. He also volunteers with the Fun, Friends, and Fitness Program, designed to introduce new players to tennis. He donated lessons as prizes to the local community tennis association city circuit tournaments. Beedle has also served as mentor for a current PTM student completing their summer internship at Querbes Tennis Center.

Beedle has demonstrated how Ferris values of collaboration, diversity, excellence, learning, and opportunity can be applied to a career and lead to remarkable success.
