Advertising/Integrated Marketing Communications Intern: Brittney Bantien
[My majors] have both given me the knowledge and direction I need to create a great portfolio.
AIMC senior Brittney Bantien, is currently interning at Northern Michigan Digital, a division of Heritage Broadcasting (9&10 News and Fox 32).
“I like the challenge of [working for] a new business that offers a wide range of services to the local community. It’s a great learning experience that offers me the opportunity to work side-by-side with knowledgeable coworkers to see how the advertising business works,” explains Brittney.
At Northern Michigan Digital, no two workdays are the same. Brittney works on a variety of advertising and marketing projects at her internship. She frequently uses the skills she accumulated through her associate degree in Graphic Design, such as operating Adobe Creative Suite programs, for her projects.
“My career goal is to become a creative director for an advertising agency one day. My associate’s degree in Graphic Design and my Advertising major have helped me greatly. They have both given me the knowledge and direction I need to create a great portfolio,” says Brittney.
Also a member of Ferris’ American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter, Brittney is aware of the steps needed to become successful after her time at Ferris State University.
“As a member of the American Marketing Association at Ferris I have been exposed to countless professional development events to help prepare me for the business environment. I have learned the step-by-step process to prepare myself for getting hired. I don’t think I could’ve developed and improved my skills like I have without the help and encouragement from AMA Ferris,” explains Brittney.
