Advertising/ Integrated Marketing Communications Graduate Interns with Doner
My favorite part of my internship so far is being able to work with such fun and helpful people in an amazing office. Working on projects for such big clients is also a plus!
Kayla Cox graduated from the Advertising/ Integrated Marketing Communications program in May 2014 and is now spending her summer interning at Doner, an advertising agency in Detroit.
Cox has the role as Creative Intern where every day brings something different to her experience. She works to develop creative concepts and executions of print and web materials for Doner’s clients. She collaborates with creative directors, art directors, copywriters, project managers, and the account team.
“My favorite part of my internship so far is being able to work with such fun and helpful people in an amazing office. Working on projects for such big clients is also a plus!”
Doner has offices in Detroit, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Cleveland, and London. The agency serves clients such as Chrysler, Fiat, JCPenney, Minute Maid, Perkins, Serta, Detroit Zoo, and the UPS Store.
“My goal is to learn more about the advertising industry as a whole along with gaining a greater insight into the agency world,” said Cox.
Cox credits her classes in the College of Business with helping her develop her technical and conceptual design skills. These critical skills have prepared Cox and other students for internships and careers. Cox noted that already knowing the entire process of an advertising campaign gave her an advantage.
AIMC combines the different forms of marketing communications to educate about all mediums. This assists students and graduates with their employability and keeps the program relevant to the industry.
